About Me

Karen

I am the proud owner of 3 labradors and have spent the past 8 years dedicated to training my own dogs and helping numerous individuals train their dogs.

When not dog training, I can be found working as a Project Manager for an eLearning company training Digital Champions or doing long hikes and wild camps!

My dogs

I currently have 3 delightful labradors. Whilst I work and train my dogs, they are first and foremost pets and my family (and yes they are allowed on the sofa!)

Poppy

Poppy is my life changing dog who introduced me to the world of working gundogs. Despite being 8, she still picks up and loves to retrieve, even if it's just a tennis ball. She is gentle, kind hearted and my rock!

Grace

Grace at 3 is my steady eddy. It took her a while to develop her zeal for retrieving and as a very sensitive dog, she taught me so many different skills than I had learnt with Poppy. I was proud to breed a litter from her in 2023. 

Ada

Daughter of Grace, Ada is just over 1 and is bold, bright and a real snuggler! She has taken to retrieving very naturally, but I've learnt further techniques with her as every dog is different. I'm excited to see how she develops.

My experience

I've spent the past 8 years training my own dogs and teaching numerous individuals how to train their own dogs.

Working tests

I have completed with Poppy and Grace in working tests, winning Novice Dog Novice Handler and Novice levels and reaching Open level with Poppy in just 3 years.

Picking up

In the winter I pick up on a small local farm shoot with Poppy and Grace. My dogs love this experience and I enjoy seeing their natural instincts and training come into its own.

Breeding

I was proud to breed a litter in 2023 from my dog Grace. It was an amazing process and incredible to see how open to learning young puppies are!  My belief in the power and joy of training puppies has grown even more.

Training

For the last 6 years I've been involved in delivering puppy and gundog training online as well as face to face groups and one-to-ones. Whilst I specialise in gundog breeds, I have worked with many other breeds as well. 

My online courses

I am passionate that people have access to the information they need to enjoy their dogs. I believe in the potential of young puppies and I'm keen that owners have the knowledge and confidence to get started on the right foot with their puppy.

My courses break down training concepts into simple, step-by-step techniques. This approach makes it easier for dog owners to understand and implement the training effectively. I place a strong emphasis on not just the “how” of training, but also the “why”, ensuring my clients grasp the underlying principles behind each technique.

My ultimate goal is to empower you to cultivate a strong and positive relationship with your dog. I believe training not only means your dog is a joy to be around, but it also provides mental stimulation for your dog and enhances the bond between dog and owner.
